Privacy Policy

EdgeClerk is a Chrome extension (side panel) and web app for freight brokerages. It looks up carriers and shipments in your brokerage's EdgeClerk account. The service is operated by 1A Irvin Co ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the extension handles and what it does not.
Who can use it
You need an account from your brokerage's EdgeClerk admin. Until you sign in, the extension does nothing beyond showing its sign-in and settings screens.
What the extension handles
Your sign-in. You sign in with your email and password, or connect from the web app. The password is sent once to sign in and is never stored by the extension. The extension stores a sign-in token in your browser's local extension storage and sends it to the EdgeClerk server with each lookup so the server can confirm you are allowed to use it.
Text you choose to look up. When auto-search is on and you highlight short text that looks like a carrier identifier (MC or DOT number, carrier name, phone, email, City/State, zip) or a shipment reference (BOL, PO or pro number), that text is sent to the EdgeClerk server to run the lookup. The same applies to text you right-click with "Vet in EdgeClerk" or "Find shipment in EdgeClerk", and to text you type into the search box. Highlights shorter than 3 or longer than 80 characters, ordinary sentences, and anything in password fields are ignored and never sent.
IP addresses you check. If you type an IP address into IP Check and click Check, that address is sent to our server, which looks it up with public IP location services (such as ip-api.com). Nothing is looked up unless you click Check.
Your company's name and logo. After you sign in, your brokerage's name and logo are downloaded from our server and kept in local extension storage so the panel can show them.
Your on/off and tab settings. Stored locally in your browser.
The server is run by 1A Irvin Co on Cloudflare (Cloudflare Workers). It records each lookup (the time, the user it belongs to, and the search text) in a log, so we can support users and keep the service secure. Your password and sign-in token are never written to that log.
What the extension does not do
- It does not read or send the pages you visit. Only the specific text you highlight, right-click or type, and that passes the checks above, is sent.
- It does not track your browsing history, collect analytics, or use cookies or advertising identifiers.
- It does not sell, rent or share your information with third parties, and does not use it for advertising or credit decisions.
- It does not load any remote code.
This website
The edge-clerk.com home page and this page use no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts and set no cookies. They are served by Cloudflare, which may keep standard request logs under its own terms.
Third parties
Lookups run on Cloudflare, which processes these requests under its own terms. To answer carrier lookups, our server uses public U.S. Department of Transportation (FMCSA) data. IP Check addresses go to the IP location service named above. Your password, sign-in token and personal details are never sent to the FMCSA or the IP location service.
Keeping and deleting data
Removing the extension deletes everything it stored in your browser, and signing out removes your sign-in token. To have your lookup log entries removed, or your access turned off, contact your brokerage's admin or us below. When your access is turned off or your brokerage's account is paused, the extension stops returning results.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
